Zinnia Elegans, also known as a common garden zinnia, is a member of the Asteracea family. The flower was first discovered in Mexico in the 1700s by German botanist Johann Gottfried Zinn. Various varieties are now common ornamental flower in many parts of the world.
The flower is available in most all colors and makes for beautiful garden flowers. The zinnia symbolizes friendship, daily remembrance and lasting affection.
